Having had his first proper gig in 2010 supporting Temple Hedz,, Laurence Tonkyn aka Mystery Selector became an after-party DJ at London’s legendary Whirl-y-Gig. This led to regularly appearing on the alternative stages or warming up the main room of Brighton's psytrance, techno and downtempo events including Twisted Frequencies, Freak Bazaar, Psy Sundays, Wobbly Records and Inertia.. Since then he's also played at Boomtown and Secret Garden Party with arts collective Malice in Wasteland, and at Whirl-y-Fayre and NoMansLand among other festivals.

 

The Mystery Selector sound ranges from world-electronica, psy-dub and glitchy downtempo

to progressive house, psychedelic minimal techno and tech-trance.

 

While in his element playing warm-up sets; gradually increasing tempo and raising the energy, you can always expect the right vibe at the right time, especially tailored to suit each event.
